1. Bring a pen or marker
I know the days of writing things down are coming to an end, but pens and markers really come in handy. Most RV dealers and vendor booths hand out flyers and brochures. Therefore, it is useful to be able to write notes while talking to the person in charge.
A writing instrument also helps with tip 3 below.
2. Arrive early
Arrive as soon as you can check in. Many attendees tend to moan hours to hours after the doors open. block the road.
Arriving early gives you a head start by staying ahead of the crowds throughout the day.
Pro Tip: Arrive at least 10 minutes early for seminars and presentations. You’ll be amazed at how quickly these fill up.
3. Know your layout
Take a look at the map you received upon registration to familiarize yourself with the huge center and outdoor space. Ideally, you can do this the night before or before the door opens.
We recommend marking the map with your trusty pen or tip #1 marker. We highlight must-see booths, the latest models, and new products you really want to see.
In doing so, you’ll discover the most efficient way to see everything you need. Don’t forget to stop by for a snack or restroom break! Planning for this will save you a lot of time. As such, we also recommend the following tips…
4. Plan the night before each day
If you are attending a large RV show that cannot be seen in one day, it is highly recommended to plan each day the night before. Grab your map and visit the show’s website to check daily for special events, such as educational seminars.
As you make your plans, you can consider whether you should follow these tips:
5. Divide and Conquer
If you’re worried that everything you want to do won’t come true, split it up and capture it! If you attend her RV show with your spouse or friends, you can cover different sections and attend different seminars.
You can then share your highlights with each other at the end of the day. This is another opportunity to help you take notes with your trusty pen, mentioned in tip #1.
BONUS TIP: Wearing one of these might help you connect with other RV lifestyle fans!
6. Schedule breaks
As you plan your day, don’t forget to include breaks. Find and mark the best places to rest along the route.
There are usually more chairs near food vendors and seminar areas (where you can sit between seminars). You can also schedule a lunch break when you return to your RV for lunch. This leads us to our next tip.
7. Plan your meals
There’s plenty of food around the show, but it’s usually more expensive than eating in your RV, and sometimes inconvenient. So as you plan your day, think about when and where you want to eat.
8. Don’t go over your schedule
When planning all these things, don’t go over your schedule. Seriously, take your time! There is so much to see and enjoy that you don’t want to rush through.
The surest way to turn a fun RV show into a frustrating experience is to try to do too much in too little time.
9. Prize lottery application
Most vendors offer small giveaways such as candy or pens. But many vendors have drawings of RV accessories, free stays at RV resorts, and other big prizes.
someone has to win. why not you
Usually when you enter a giveaway, you get an email or even regular mail from the company, and it’s actually not that bad. You can usually unsubscribe easily.
Since many of these companies are small businesses, they do not intend to sell your contact information. They just want to send you future promotions.
10. Never buy
Don’t buy the first thing you see or think you need. Another vendor may have the same item. You may be able to find it for a better price or have more styles and colors to choose from.
Mark what is available for purchase on your trusty map and return to the location when you decide to purchase.
11. Take a photo
Start with a fully charged phone and keep it handy for taking pictures throughout the day. It helps you keep track of what you need (now or in the future). It will help you compare products and come back to a final decision.
12. Don’t be forced to buy
This is an important tip. Don’t pressure yourself to buy on the day. Quite a few salespeople try to put time pressure on to make a sale. Don’t give in to it.
In fact, if the salesman says, “This deal is only valid today,” you should probably walk away. In my opinion, that’s a red flag that the salesman is relying more on his salesmanship than giving you an honest good deal.
The best deals don’t require you to buy a travel trailer, 5 wheeler, toy hauler, camper, or any RV before the end of the business day.
13. Wear comfortable shoes!
We end this list with a very practical and important tip. Wear comfortable shoes! You will be walking and standing a lot during the day.
America’s largest RV show, the Hershey Show is the size of 33 football fields. So it is highly recommended to wear comfortable sneakers or lightweight hiking shoes.
