NEW HAVEN — A man in his 30s was injured in a shooting at his Basset Street home on Monday afternoon, police said.
New Haven police responded to a home on the 300th block of Basset Street around 4 p.m. Monday with a report of the shooting, said Capt. Rose Dell, a New Haven police spokesperson. He found the man in the kitchen after officers determined the shooting occurred during an argument in the room, Dell said.
The man, identified as a 34-year-old, was shot in the upper back near his collarbone, Dell said. He was taken to hospital for treatment. Staff described his injuries as not life-threatening, Dell said.
Detectives are “following important leads in this case,” Dell said.
