Pickering’s Lowes Superstore took home one of the major trophies at Tuesday night’s Hardware and Home Improvement Awards Gala at the Queen’s Landing Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Lowe’s Pickering won the National Hardware Show’s Best Large Surface Retailer award, recognizing the best large home improvement stores in the country.

Another large retailer was one of the grand prize winners at the 30th Annual Outstanding Retailer Awards Gala Dinner. Fort Erie’s Rona received the Marc Robichaud Community Leader Award, which is given to the hardware retailer deemed most involved in the local community. Fort Erie Rona often raises money for charities such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meals on Wheel and Heart & Stroke Foundation.
The awards ceremony concluded the first day of the 26th Annual Hardlines Conference. Eric Palmer, Vice President and General Manager of Sexton Group. Economist Peter Norman, whose insights have become a longtime staple of Hardline conferences.
