Kenya’s parliament has completed the review process for President William Ruto’s cabinet appointments and will issue a report approving their oaths or vetoes within 14 days.
This week, 24 nominees attended the parliamentary nominations committee and announced plans for the various minutes they will lead.
The judging process, which was broadcast live on major television channels in the East African country, concluded on Saturday night.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangla, who presided over the meeting, said: “When we withdraw to consider whether a candidate is suitable for the office to which he is nominated, we will endeavor to comply with the provisions of public appointments.”
President Ruto announced his cabinet candidates on September 27, two weeks after taking the oath of office.
Once approved and in office, the new cabinet is expected to tackle a range of issues affecting the East African country.
These challenges include deadly droughts that have claimed lives in parts of the country, rising costs of living and insecurity.
