Amy Ludwig, Workday Support Services Finance Lead
The Office of Financial Affairs created the Financial Innovator Award, known as the Financial Affairs Service and Innovation Award, to promote significant and lasting impact on the university through bold, innovative and creative approaches to everyday university problems throughout the university. Recognize those who have made significant contributions.
This award recognizes university faculty, non-faculty, academic, administrative, or skilled craft/service/maintenance employees who propose fresh ideas that lead to process efficiencies, cost savings, and/or productivity gains. is open. Each quarter he selects one employee to receive the award and at the end of the calendar year he selects an annual award winner from among the four quarterly winners.
We are pleased to announce the winners for Q3 2022:
Amy Ludwig, Workday Support Services Finance Lead
In July 2020, the university introduced Workday. This brings all U of A System agencies together on a common platform for key administrative business functions such as finance, human capital management and payroll. Project One (now known as Workday Support Services) is a systems-led team that supports Workday implementations. Ludwig joined the Project One team in 2021 after spending 12 years as Director of Budget Analysis and Human Resources at the University of Arkansas, Rich His Mountain School, and was recently promoted to Finance Director for Workday Support Services. .
Ludwig is an excellent advocate and resource for some of the university’s more unique business needs. Recently, when a new business process approval routing was required and a U of A system-wide solution seemed unlikely, Ludwig never backed down from the challenge, explored alternative options, and graduated from college without being at a disadvantage. We have developed a solution that meets the needs of He influences others on the U of A campus. This one change of his has streamlined operations, improved communication, and increased efficiency for both the Finance and Sponsored Programs Departments.
Ludwig has also worked diligently with universities and other U of A campuses to improve year-end financial reporting. In addition, she worked with the university to redesign the asset expenditure categories, resulting in a significantly improved and faster reconciliation process and improved grant financial reporting. Ludwig’s efforts are innumerable, and her work has resulted in significant improvements to the university process.
Ludwig’s commitment to making Workday a success, not just for universities, but for all institutions in the U of A System, her problem-solving skills and dedication to service will be recognized by the Financial Affairs Service in Q3 2022. and Innovation Award. Join us to celebrate Amy Ludwig!
