While thinking about your future, it’s important to note that the opportunity to be part of a manufacturing team probably stands out. Because manufacturers of all sizes in Tennessee say the same thing. “Recruiting creators”.
Ultimately, it all comes down to conveying the spirit of a modern manufacturer. It is to create. To make many of the products that Americans depend on, such as household goods, musical instruments, automobiles, and advanced electronics, we can imagine how we could make things better, or things that no one had ever thought of. According to research by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute, manufacturers will need to fill about 4 million jobs over 10 years. The industry does more than just advertise for help, either.
The Creators Wanted Tour, a joint project of the National Association of Manufacturers and its workforce development and education partner, The Manufacturing Institute, visited Nashville last month. Companies such as Electrolux, FactoryFix and Schneider Electric gathered on site to discuss the many opportunities the facility offers.
NAM’s state partner, the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce, was proud to support the event, along with other Tennessee initiatives such as Be Pro, Be Proud TN. .
The Creators Wanted Tour raises awareness and interest in manufacturing careers through a mobile experience with networking opportunities, resources and mobile “escape rooms.” Provides manufacturing-related challenges for the next generation of manufacturers, their parents, and educators to solve as they learn about modern manufacturing.
