“Grant’s Giving” 3K/5K Raises Funds for Sports Opportunities for Louisville’s Underserved Youth
Today we’re talking about opportunities for you and your family to walk or run A5K in CRISSY and protect nature. Joining me now to talk about it is Lauren Peter. Good morning Lauren. good morning. how are you. i’m great. thank you for using. All right. First, let’s talk about Sunday, November 2nd. And I want to know what the runners and walkers out there can expect. That’s crazy, Megan, I don’t know if you’ve been there before, like you saw in Chrissy, but it’s known for its beautiful tree-lined scenery. So it’s on a difficult hill too. That’s why we have A5K for runners and walkers. And it’s actually an official timed race. It’s great if you’re looking for a challenge. And the A3K also has a walker option. This is a short little winding through the woods and suitable for all levels. yes. I love it. Please join this rally to support the Foundation. Foundation, tell me more about Grant’s memory. yes. Grant was my cousin who died in an accident when I was 12 years old. And his mother, who is also my cousin, set up a foundation in his honor. And we are basically raising money for sporting opportunities for underserved youth in our communities. We do it all in our mission to spread the word. Grant is known for always having a big smile on his face, and we do it to bring smiles to other people’s faces. Carrying the memories of our loved ones is always so important. And I hope the whole community will come out and support it and don’t forget the grant too. So if you want to participate, how do you sign? yes. Again, the race is on his November 6th. To sign up, go to WW Grants GIVING DOT ORG SLASH RUN and you can sign up there. It’s easy. If you want to be a runner or walker, you have options. There are also options. If you want to become an online virtual participant, you have the option to become just a spectator. Get outside and enjoy the food trucks, live music and everything there is to know. sounds like fun. SO this is his second year on RUN. First one. super successful. Do you have a fundraising goal for this year? And how much have you raised so far in the last year? Last year we actually raised $20,000. And this year, of course, we want to raise more than that. Your support, help us do it. Awesome. Lauren, thank you so much for being here. Yes, thank you.And again everyone was interested in an annual subsidy giving 5 K
