Based in Sauk, Wisconsin Quartz Health Solutions Co., Ltd.the state’s largest health maintenance organization, today announced the launch of two new health insurance products aimed at people facing barriers to care.
New products, the Medicare Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (DSNP) and Supplemental Security Income Medicaid Product (SSI), were launched this month in Milwaukee, Dane and LaCrosse counties.
Mark Selna, Quartz President and Chief Executive Officer, said: “Many of this population may suffer from homelessness, poverty, mental illness, or substance use disorders. We hope to be able to bring healthcare to those who need it most.”
A new DSNP product, the Quartz Dual Eligible Plan, is available to eligible members with both Medicare and Medicaid entitlements. This plan allows members to maintain their Medicaid coverage while gaining additional benefits such as dental insurance and quarterly over-the-counter benefits at no additional cost. The Quartz Dual Eligible plan offers a $0 premium and no cost share.
Members also have access to Quartz Champion, a personalized, hands-on concierge service, according to the organization.
The new Medicaid SSI plan is for eligible people age 65 and older, or children and adults who are blind or disabled and receive supplemental guaranteed income.
In addition to offering new plans, Quartz has expanded the footprint of its BadgerCare Plus plan to reach more eligible Wisconsin residents. Starting January 1, Quartz BadgerCare Plus now includes Chippewa, Eau Claire, Walworth and Wood counties.
With this expansion, Quartz is certified to cover BadgerCare Plus members in 26 Wisconsin counties. In 2022, Quartz, which is jointly owned by Advocate Aurora Health, Gundersen Health System, UnityPoint Health and UW Health, served nearly 50,000 members through its BadgerCare Plus program.
