Jared Reimer, CTO and President of Cascadeo, explains why AWS is pushing in 2023, why the “old world of IT” hasn’t died yet, and why ChatGPT will eventually become “as good as a competent human software developer.” He tells CRN about how to be great.”
Jared Reimer, Cascadeo’s longtime leader and tech guru, isn’t worried about the massive tech layoffs happening across the industry. Because cloud he computing is just starting in 2023 with hundreds of billions of dollars.
Cascadeo Founder, President and CTO Jared Reimer said: “People who get laid off aren’t usually people with that kind of skill set. Even if they were, they’d be hooked quickly.”
Cascadeo is doubling down on Amazon Web Services to upskill cloud professionals as quickly as possible, according to Reimer, because the already huge cloud computing market has yet to take off.
“Cloud feels like a fully mature market. But when we zoom out, we are really still in the early adopter stage. If it’s not and it’s increasing, we haven’t hit a giant hockey stick,” Reimer said. “The old IT world has not yet started to die out completely.”

ChatGPT will be as good as a human software developer
Cascadeo is an innovative MSP and AWS Premier Tier Services partner, specializing in cloud migration, AIOps, machine learning, and data analytics. The Seattle-based company entered into a strategic collaboration agreement with cloud market leader AWS in 2022 to accelerate enterprise and mid-market cloud adoption.
“While we will continue to support all of the major US cloud hyperscalers, the majority of our business today and this year will be AWS-centric. It’s something we think, too,” Reimer said. “For us, this year is really about scaling.”
A tech guru who has been in the industry for 30 years, Reimer is also optimistic about the rapid advances in artificial intelligence, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Amazon’s CodeWhisperer.
“ChatGPT will eventually be as good as a competent human software developer,” said Reimer.
In an interview with CRN, Reimer discusses the future of the cloud computing market, Cascadeo’s major investments in 2023, and how platform services and SaaS will overtake traditional IT hardware.
“Five years from now, the amount of physical hardware being sold outside of hyperscalers will be in a critical state,” he said.
