Another Chase Sapphire Lounge location has been proposed at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
The Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Board of Directors will vote at its meeting on Thursday, February 2 to approve or reject The Club’s lease agreement with the Chase Sapphire Lounge.
According to board minutes, the Sapphire Lounge is located by Gate 35 in Terminal D, and is part of DFW’s existing Capital One lounge (considered one of the best airport lounges in the country) and the DFW American Express Centurion lounge.
There are currently no details on the size of the space, but it will be in an area with many shared airline lounges, one of which could be home to the Sapphire Lounge in the future.
According to a DFW Airport Board action item, the lounge will be open to eligible Chase cardholders and Priority Pass holders. This is in line with other Sapphire lounge rules proposed by Chase.
If approved, DFW’s Sapphire lounge will be one of the first Chase lounges in the United States. Although not the first Sapphire lounge to open, the Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong (HKG) is already open.
With the addition of DFW, Chase plans to open at least nine lounges.
The Sapphire Lounge is jointly operated with Airport Dimensions, a group in the same group as ‘The Club’ family of lounges currently accessible to Priority Pass members. However, Chase has more premium amenities than most Priority Pass lounges, including showers, wellness areas and family rooms.
But these new Chase Sapphire lounges will face stiff competition. American Express has been the king of airport lounges for many years, with a growing list of Amex Centurion lounges both in US airports and internationally. Now, Capital One has raised the bar even higher with the opening of its first lounge in Dallas Fort Worth (DFW). This year, we plan to open two more Capital One lounges in Denver (DEN) and Washington, DC Dulles (IAD). , and other pending announcements are in progress.
