- Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen lost 16% of his wealth, but Microsoft’s Satya Nadella’s wealth remained unchanged.
- The richest professional manager on the list is Arista Networks’ Jayshree Ullal, who has a net worth of Rs 16,600.
According to the IIFL Hurun India Rich List 2022, Google CEO Sundar Pichai lost a fifth of his wealth last year. Although his net worth has decreased by 20% to Rs 5,300, he still ranks among the top 10 richest professional managers on the list.
In 2018, Pichai declined to grant new stock options, saying they had already been paid “fully”.
Some of his colleagues, Indian-born CEOs of US-based companies, have not fared well financially. Adobe’s CEO Shantanu Narayan’s fortune fell by 16% to his Rs 3,800.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s fortune remained unchanged last year at 6,200 kroner.
Ajay Banga, former chairman of Mastercard and now vice chairman of General Atlantic Corporation, is richer than Nadella, Pichai and Narayan. However, he too lost his 6% of his assets last year and now he stands at Rs 6,500.
Thomas Kurian, who now heads Google Cloud, lost 3% of his assets last year. According to Hulun’s rich list, he now has a wealth of Rs 12,100.
The report states that the professional managers on this list are people who made their fortunes from stock options in the companies they worked for.
Some of them have now left those companies to join new companies. For example, Thomas Kurian left Oracle to head Google’s cloud division. Ajay Banga left Mastercard to join General Atlantic.
