While this partnership is ongoing—and shouldn’t be overlooked—for a limited time, World of Hyatt is offering American Airlines elite members a temporary upgrade to World of Hyatt Explorist status. If you qualify and activate the offer by November 30, 2023, you’ll receive Explorist benefits for 90 days upon registration. Those that stay 10 qualifying nights within the same 90-day period may have their status extended through February 2025.
Normally, Explorist status requires guests to stay a minimum of 30 nights over the course of a calendar year. While this promotion drastically reduces the number of required nights to earn elite status, you’ll also need work within a much shorter time frame. This could be an easy win if you already have trips planned for the near future. Explorist status provides benefits including a 20% bonus on base points on qualifying stays, room upgrades and late checkout when available.
Even better, American Airlines Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum elite members can earn top-tier Hyatt Globalist status through February 2025 by staying 20 nights within the same 90-day promotional period. Earning Globalist status usually requires 60 nights in a calendar year. Globalist members get exclusive benefits, including Hyatt Club lounge access, free breakfast and free parking on award nights, which can add huge value to Hyatt stays.
To take advantage of this offer, you’ll first need to link your Hyatt and American Airlines accounts. Then, you’ll be able to activate the offer before November 30, 2023—assuming you hold the required AAdvantage status to qualify.
