The Frommaton woman has been charged with leaving her elderly father in a poorly maintained home near McDavid for days without food or water.
Tiffany June Quevedo, 40, has been charged with felony neglect of an elderly person.
The 82-year-old man was found on a soiled mattress in the bedroom of his North Pine Barren Road trailer after a family friend contacted authorities, according to the sheriff’s office.
A deputy at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office wrote in the report, “We observed the residence falling apart.” “There were multiple holes in the floor, some large enough to fall through. I observed multiple moldy fruits and vegetables around the kitchen. I observed pots with food left in them, and I observed dirty clothes and trash strewn all over the floor of the trailer.”
“We observed multiple injuries to the (victim’s) arm and excessive growth of fingernails and hair,” the report continued. The victim’s bedroom was also covered with dirty clothes and trash. Also, the smell of rotten food and body odor was strongly felt throughout the house.”
The victim told attorneys he had been lying in the same spot on his bed for four or five days. He said Quevedo was responsible for looking after him, but he hadn’t seen her for about five days when she left with her wallet and cell phone, according to her arrest report. the book says.
The victim said she fell out of bed and was forced to crawl to the kitchen for food and water. He said there was no way to pay for anything or ask for help.
The lieutenant said there was no fresh food, edible food or water around the victim. Reports said there were no walking aids or phones that victims could use to call EMS or go to the bathroom.
Reports continued that a five-gallon bucket was left for the victim, about half full of urine and feces. The Deputy Commissioner said there was no concrete evidence that Quevedo stole wallets or money, but the investigation continues.
