Additional $7.1M for Hurricane Laura allocated to SW La.

The Federal Emergency Management Institute has awarded an additional $7.1 million in federal grants for hurricane recovery efforts in southwestern Louisiana.
Funding will be made available through the Hurricane Laura Catastrophe Declaration.
Refunds include:
- $1,610,221.78 will be donated to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury to replace damaged street signs throughout the Parish.
- $2,784,548.25 to the City of Lake Charles for repairs to the Department of Public Works building.
- $1,278,064.80 to the Airport Authority Calcasieu Parish District 1 for the replacement of the building.
- donated $1,429,379.82 to the Calcasieu Parish Board of Education for the repair of JI Watson Elementary School;
“Parents need to feel comfortable knowing the roads are safe when driving their children to school,” said Senator Bill Cassidy (R-Louisiana). “This funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will enable our communities to rebuild crumbling roads and keep our families safe.”
