AELC is a non-profit organization that supports 30 early learning coalitions across all 67 counties statewide and their efforts to ensure quality learning experiences for all children.
Grant began his career in the State Senate in 2007, specializing in policy development and legislative analysis. She then joined the Early Learning Division within the Department of Education, where she oversaw the development of the Child Care Development Fund Plan and the implementation and analysis of state and federal changes to early learning programs.
After seven years at DOE, Grant moved to AELC, where he served as Deputy Director and advocated for continued investment and advancement in quality early childhood education.
Fowler began her teaching career in the Early Learning department in 2014, coordinating a previous Early Learning Advisory Board and spearheading special projects across the Early Learning Program.
Most recently, under the leadership of the Commissioner, he served as Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at the Ministry of Education. Richard Corcoranhas successfully advocated for important policy and historic educational investments for Florida students and educators.

After DOE, Smeltzer became Executive Director of her AELC, streamlining best practices statewide and helping the coalition support equitable learning experiences for all children.
