In December, a bipartisan commission revealed it was investigating Ocasio-Cortez after receiving an inquiry from the bipartisan Congressional Ethics Office. At the time, the House of Representatives’ office declined to share details about the investigation, citing an ongoing investigation.
The report was released Thursday, but the House Ethics Committee will continue to consider the issue. Unlike the independent Congressional Ethics Office, her 10-member commission is empowered to issue subpoenas and impose sanctions on members of the House of Representatives.
