In December, a bipartisan commission revealed it was investigating Ocasio-Cortez after receiving an inquiry from the bipartisan Congressional Ethics Office. At the time, the House of Representatives’ office declined to share details about the investigation, citing an ongoing investigation.
The report was released Thursday, but the House Ethics Committee will continue to consider the issue. Unlike the independent Congressional Ethics Office, her 10-member commission is empowered to issue subpoenas and impose sanctions on members of the House of Representatives.
The Ocasio-Cortez office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In February, her publicist said: forbes Legislators were confident that the investigation would yield nothing. Communications director Lauren Hitt said.
