COLDWATER — Asama Coldwater Manufacturing Inc. will begin construction on a $19 million, 39,000 square foot expansion to its existing factory earlier this year.
Completion in 2024 will add 32 new jobs for machine operators, maintenance workers, supervisors, inspectors and fork truck operators.
The company has expanded several times since opening on North Michigan Avenue south of State Road in 1996.
ACM works with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance, and the City of Coldwater to apply for investment-related incentives. The extension includes applications for property tax relief, which reduces the improvement tax for up to 12 years.
ACM Vice President Keith Teachout said:
The facility expansion and investment will help the company meet new requirements to manufacture brake components for the North American automotive industry using design specifications provided.
