KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WATE) — A Knoxville business owner takes to social media to ask for community help after his mint green camper was stolen.
Owned by Colleen Martin little foot designs She does a lot of her business by going to events in her campervan. Last week she found it stolen and wants her community to help find her.
“Little Hoot Designs started about 12 years ago. I used to be a first grade teacher, but after having two kids, I decided to step away from that role, but I wanted to do something at home. We started making Little Hoot because we needed to,” said Martin.
For the first few years of his business, Martin sold primarily online.
“About five years ago, I decided to step away from my online business and take it to the next level by purchasing a campervan,” she said.
She found a small mint green camper van online and knew it would be perfect for her small business.
“It changed my business,” she said. “People started recognizing it. They saw the camper and its mint bright and colorful, and they knew it was Little Foot.”
However, the other day, I noticed that it was gone, and filed a damage report with the police.
“I noticed it was missing and immediately called one of the girls who works with me. I was so busy that I left it somewhere and completely forgot about it.” I’ve never had anyone steal anything from me in a situation like this.So I was just freaked out.It took me a minute to process it, so the conclusion I didn’t want to rush,” she said.
Martin also posted about the missing camper on Facebook, and the post now has over 1,000 shares.
“Word of mouth is so powerful and it’s really great to see social media being used for good,” Martin said.
She added that her Christmas wish is to bring back the mobile business.
Little Hoot Designs has a store in Bearden, but it’s only been open for about six months.
Martin said much of their business comes from traveling in campers to various events. , I don’t know what to do.
Martin told WATE the best way for the community to help is by sharing posts to help find campers. If anyone sees the camper, they will be asked to call 911.
