Ontic, a licensor and manufacturer of complex engineered components for the aerospace and defense industry, has licensed the RDR4A/B Weather Radar Systems product line from Honeywell under an exclusive agreement.
The weather radar platform line is an integral system for aircraft and consists of transceivers, antennas, antenna drive units, control panels and mounting trays.
This product line fits a range of platforms, including the Boeing 737 family, 777 and 757, and Airbus A320-CL, A330 and A340, and serves some of the world’s largest operators of these platforms.
The agreement includes repair, manufacturing, spares, repair and support for the complete product line.
The first move from Honeywell to Ontick will be at Ontick’s Singapore facility covering the Asian region, followed by the Chatsworth facility in the United States.
The final move will see the UK base of Clive Business Park and Stubberton set up to support European operations. Additional support is planned for France from early 2023.
Ontic said the company’s existing radar capabilities will help reduce aircraft downtime and ensure the continued safety of aircraft, crew and passengers. I said I meant to be on hand.
Gareth Blackbird, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Ontick, said:“We are excited to begin work on this product line and take advantage of our existing radar support capabilities.
“Additionally, our recent multi-million dollar investment across our facilities is a testament to the fact that we have the infrastructure and expertise to offer.
“We are pleased to offer a global solution for this licensing agreement.”
