Bricktown’s favorite Cowboy Ranch Country Bar closed abruptly in December 2022, but plans to reopen in 2023 as Oklahoma Ranch.
The newly titled Country Bar announced Monday on social media that it will open on Friday, February 3rd. The refurbished venue will include a 3,300-square-foot hardwood dance floor and a line-up of live entertainment.
Despite the name change, much of what downtown Oklahoma City residents love about this country bar remains the same. Tenants are eager to keep the venue open after the New Year.
Brent Brewer said, “The community has provided a lot of great support for this place and it seemed to be very successful and people missed it.” I answered the phone calls, vetted everyone and decided to go with a local investment group and they chose to keep the same management staff, same waitresses and bartenders because they wanted to open the place ASAP It was possible because it was important to restart.”
Oklahoma Ranch will occupy the same space as the former Cowboy Ranch at 425 E California Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City. The previous iteration of the bar was evicted in December after its owner faced thousands of dollars in unpaid debt and taxes.
Brewer also said staff wanted to rebrand the bar with a name that sounded appealing to everyone in the state. Despite the name change, Oklahoma Ranch will still be run by many of the same people who contributed to its success as Cowboy Ranch, including new owner Eddie Wade, the former manager of Cowboy Ranch.
“Eddie has been there since day one,” said Brewer. “He is a great manager. We couldn’t be happier with the investor’s choice to keep the same staff.”
