October 23, 2022 – American Hockey League (AHL) – San Jose Barracuda News Release
San Jose, Calif. – The San Jose Barracuda (3-0-0-0) saw veteran goaltender Aaron Dell shut out the Henderson Silver Knights (1-4-0-0) in the team’s first game, closing the back of the net. I found it 4 times. A regular for his season at the Tech CU Arena on Saturday night in front of a near-sold out crowd.
Tristen Robins (2) scored the first goal at the Tech CU Arena and the Barracudas would see Dell make multiple vast saves to pull Henderson off the board. With just over two minutes left in his opening frame, Brandon Coe (1) had his first shot of the season.
Finding the back of the net again in the second period, Coe (2) scored his second of the season and second of the night with Derrick Puriot’s shot.
In order to stay on the scoresheet, Thomas Bordlow (2) scored the fourth Barracuda goal with just under six minutes remaining due to a delay penalty.
Dell secured the ninth shutout of his AHL career, his second win in a short season.
On the first night of back-to-back games between the Barracudas and the Silver Knights, Jeffrey Viell (SJ) and Kyle Marino (HSK) dropped their gloves and set a packed house on fire.
The Barracuda’s penalty kills kept a perfect record, going 4-for-4 on Saturday and 14-for-14 for the season.
With a perfect record and 6 points in the standings, the Barracuda look to continue their success in Sunday’s rematch with the Silver Knights at Tech CU Arena (3pm). Click here for tickets.
