The core features of GetResponse center around making email marketing and building newsletters easy. It offers a large gallery of pre-built email and newsletter templates, a very beginner (and code-free) visual editor, numerous automations and some lead generation tools such as a website builder.
Emails and Newsletters
The main feature of GetResponse is its email and newsletter builder. It makes the process very easy as it walks users through every step of the process on a single page. This includes everything from selecting a recipient list, a sender, the subject line, the body of the email and settings such as send time (e.g., send now or schedule for later), click tracking, e-commerce tracking and link tracking via Google Analytics.
Templates
GetResponse has 100-plus pre-built templates that users can choose from. Templates are categorized by email type, such as welcome emails, holidays, promotions and more. Its templates are very modern and feel high-quality—more so than many of its competitors. Additionally, it also enables users to create their own templates, design in HTML or even update an old design—which could be very helpful for users as it saves time and makes the design process simple.
Visual Editor
One of the best aspects of GetResponse is just how simple its visual email editor is. It is a “What You See Is What You Get” (WYSIWYG) editor, so changes are shown in real time, eliminating any confusion as to how it will appear to recipients. And while this is true of most of the top email marketing platforms, what’s different about GetResponse is that it is far more simplistic and very intuitive. It has very little clutter, making it easy to navigate and everything works as you would expect it to, which is nice and not always the case.
Automations
One downfall of GetResponse is that while it offers a vast number of automations, including a library of pre-built automated workflows, its workflow builder is not very intuitive. In fact, it looks very dated and involves a bit of a learning curve. Due to this, users who are looking for a very beginner-friendly email marketing platform where they can build out complex automations easily will likely find other platforms to be more suitable.
Website Builder
GetResponse has a fairly little-known website builder that rivals many of the most popular website builders for basic business websites. Granted, it does not offer as many templates as other website builders, though it does offer a solid selection—all of which are very easy to customize using its code-free site editor.
