Heavy Truck Business Celebrates 20 Years in Natchez

NATCHEZ—this year marks its 20th anniversaryth A year after being a family owned business, Waters International Trucks opens its Natchez location.
Waters International, located at 19 Feltus St., offers a dealer as well as a parts and service division for heavy construction equipment, school buses and international highway trucks.
Three employees who started working there 20 years ago are still there: Lynn Marvel, Donald Johnson, and General Manager John Hughes.
To mark the occasion, Waters International Trucks held an open house in its warehouse last week, keeping warm with giant heaters and piping hot, crispy fried fish and chicken tenders. About 100 people, including employees, local officials, friends of the Waters family, and guests.
The Natchez Adams County Chamber of Commerce cut a ribbon to mark its 20th anniversary at Waters International Trucks.th Years in Natchez and community service.
Additionally, Waters International Trucks donated a check worth $2,500 to Copiah Lincoln Community College.
The company was founded in 1938 and has seven facilities in Mississippi, including two in Columbus and one in Hattiesburg, Tupelo, Kosciuszko, Meridian and Natchez, ML Waters said.
“It is now run by the fourth generation of the Waters family,” he said. “We have six Waters in this business.”
He added that the company has seen “steady growth” since its inception 84 years ago and is always looking for new employees. “The future is electric,” said Waters, adding that he has sold several electric trucks on the highway. “And our service sector is growing and hiring more people all the time.”
