New report claims Matt Hancock will be paid £400,000 to perform I’m a celebrity… get me out of here!
The Conservative MP, who stepped down as health secretary last year after being caught kissing his aide, Gina Coradangelo, announced earlier this week that he would be starring in the next series of the hit ITV reality show.

“ITV wanted viewers to think the deal was worth around £150,000, when in reality it was more than double that. I asked him to appear, and the money definitely helped him get the contract.
A Hancock spokesperson said: “Matt will be making a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk to help with dyslexia due to his appearance.”
The spokesperson added, “He will also, as usual, declare to Congress the amount he will receive from the show to ensure full transparency.”
“This is a great opportunity to engage with the public and talk about issues he really cares about, including the dyslexia campaign. Matt is still working on constituency issues and will continue until he gets into the jungle. has agreed that Matt will be able to communicate with his team throughout the show should any urgent voter issues arise.”
ITV declined to comment.
Hancock’s involvement in the series has drawn criticism from fans of the show and others in the political arena.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is among Hancock’s critics, an official spokesperson said:
“When electing representatives, the public expects them to work hard for their constituencies.”
Principal Whip Simon Hart said: “After my conversation with Matt Hancock, I reviewed the situation and believe this is a serious enough issue to justify an immediate suspension of the whip. I’m here.
Hancock joins the cast for the 2022 edition i am a celebrity DJ Chris Moyles, English football player Jill Scott, loose woman star Charlene White.
