In a free market system like ours, general unrestricted trade in goods and services drives the economy, making the United States the world’s largest economy. In central Wisconsin, including Stevens Point Micropolitan Areawhich is not so true.
I didn’t really like the term capitalist, developed by socialists who hated the free market. I like to associate the free market with freedom and the ideal of liberty. The freedom to exchange the fruits of my labor in exchange for any goods or services I desire.
But this is not a column about socio-political economy. light up francisThis is much closer to my heart. A business that supports local economies, employs citizens, and makes my life better.
Starting today we will be regularly featuring some of the best small businesses in our community. No coordination or collusion (Russian or otherwise) with these facilities. These are her one man honest assessments of the local entrepreneurial heroes that dot the area offering fair goods and services at fair prices.
In no particular order, I can’t think of a better way to start this new set of columns than with one of my favorite places to eat, drink, and hang out.That is Mr. Brews Taphouse.
Inconspicuous Surrounded by discreet strip malls It is located in Chidori village along the prefectural road. HH, Mr. Brews is primarily a burger joint and, as you can imagine, serves a wide variety of adult (and other) beverages. The family-friendly, casual atmosphere adds to the feeling of relaxation and celebration as you walk through the door.
Several televisions surround you with various programs, usually featuring popular sporting events. The music is chosen daily by the staff, so it can fluctuate from classic rock, reggae, country, or anything you’ve honestly never heard. It’s fun and keeps things different.
With 48 types of drinks, including sours and nitros, with a focus on local and non-local craft beers, you’re sure to find something you love. They do have some big brewery choices there as well, but they’re discreetly hidden under the counter so as not to raise too many eyebrows. am.
Don’t like beer? Brews also offers a small selection of basic cocktails starting with the concoction of the month (My term, not their term), Bourbon, Bloody Mary, wine, soft drinks, etc.Their beer inventory rotates regularly and their website,or Untappd App on your smartphone. Honestly, you’d want to see the latest beer menu at every table.
Feeling hungry? If you’re looking for goose pate de foie gras or a gourmet selection of chilled bowfin caviar, this isn’t the place for you. Light up Frances.
Mr. Brew’s has mouth-watering craft burgers like the Bacon Mac and Cheese Burger, the Brew’s Chetta Burger (no puns) or my favorite, the Rajan Cajun Burger. There are half a dozen more, so if you can’t find something you like, you can always pick the All American Cheeseburger and customize it to your liking. They sometimes also have burgers of the month that they create, so the variety is always there.
Looking for chicken or pulled pork sandwiches instead, or chicken tenders, salads and kid-friendly meals?
Of course, we also offer a variety of appetizers such as wings, poppers, pretzels and chili. An assortment of fries and chips can complete a great burger or stand alone as a snack.
Their menu isn’t overly extensive. version herebut the in-house menu is a bit more detailed and extensive.
One of Mr. Brew’s best features is its laid-back atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating during the summer months, so you can bring your well-behaved dog with you.
The waitstaff are simply excellent. They are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. They will help make your visit as enjoyable as possible and will always remember your friendly face.
For value, ambiance, variety and quality I give Mr. Brews a 4 out of 4. Probably “4 out of 4 pints” because “4 stars” is boring. i need to work on that. Anyway, I highly recommend them.
