The lifestyle fashion brand has agreed a deal with the Harworth Group for a unit at Gateway 36, Barnsley.
Harworth recently completed the direct development of the 39,200 square foot unit as part of the second phase of the development.
The unit will be leased to lifestyle fashion brand Lucy & Yak over a 10-year lease with an annual rent of £300,000 and will be used for warehousing and distribution.
Built to Harworth commercial building specifications, it achieved a BREEAM rating of “Very Good” and benefits from the installation of photovoltaic panels, which occupants can extend across the roof. can.
Elsewhere at Gateway 36, 71,000 square feet of Grade A space spanning two units is nearing completion as part of Phase 2. Plans have also been submitted for his 139,000-square-foot unit on the site, which Harworth plans to pre-lease before construction begins.
Harworth Chief Investment Officer Jonathan Haigh said:
“Our Gateway 36 development, adjacent to Junction 36 on the M1, will be a major hub for logistics and manufacturing in Yorkshire. It shows the appeal of this space and its suitability for a wide range of businesses.”
Chris Renwick, co-founder and CEO of Lucy & Yak added: Her family was born and raised in Barnsley, where she still lives. Moving to this space will eventually allow her to offer over 100 living wage jobs locally.
In addition to the Gateway 36 deal, Harworth also announced the sale of Chorley’s Moorland Gate Business Park for £5.3m.
Harworth was advised by Savills on the disposition of the Moorland Gate Business Park and by Knight Frank and GV&Co on the rental at Gateway 36.
