Lowe’s Home Improvement appears to be eyeing the 12th retail site in Tarrant County.
A North Carolina-based company with approximately 2,200 stores in the United States and Canada is seeking permission to survey approximately 14 acres of wastewater along Avondale Haslet Road near US 81, far north of Fort Worth.
The site appears to be adjacent to the Walmart Supercenter anchoring this rapidly growing corridor.
Lowe’s already has a store in Keller on North Tarrant Parkway, about 15 miles from the site, as well as stores in Hurst, Euless and Southlake.
Lowe’s did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Avondale site, once a rural area in northeastern Tarrant County, will be a strategic location with a burgeoning new subdivision. As an example, last summer the city approved a zoning permit to build about 2,000 homes near Bonds Ranch and Morris Dido Newark Road.
The publicly traded company, based in Mooresville, North Carolina, employs approximately 300,000 people. As of early 2022, Texas was home to the most Lowe’s stores in the nation, with 143 of his 1,737 stores nationwide.
