Hello AJ readers!
Between having fun on a snowy day and trying to meet early deadlines because of the weather, we learned about starting and trading some businesses.
Earlier in the week, I had the opportunity to interview Emily Foxworth, whose family owns the local Hobbytown. They decided to build their own prominent building on 82nd Street. The new space doubles in size, allowing us to offer more inventories and classes.
“To renovate a building in Lubbock, it’s enough to build your own building,” said Foxworth. “We are building a legacy and we want to pass this on to the next generation.”

Velvet Taco released a special ‘Wreck ’em’ game day menu for Red Raider fans this week. Venezia Willis, chef and the company’s culinary director, detailed the new menu, along with her recommendations.
“We want to connect people with food memories and things that people can relate to,” Willis said. .”

Habit Burger also commented on Lubbock’s search for a franchisee. The company’s chief global business and partnerships officer, John Phillips, detailed why he wanted to attack the hub his city.
“We continue to build on both coasts and now is the time to expand into the Midwest and Southwest,” Phillips said. I want to be part of the Texas community.”
Buckner Children and Family Services also announced that its campus in Brentwood will soon be sold. Officials reiterated that services will not be affected as they will be working at the South Loop 289 campus until additional office space is leased.
Other reopens or openings include Spud Truck and Java Jet on 66th Street and Indiana Avenue. La Potlánca Bar & Grill opened Monday, January 23rd at 227 US Route 87. The grill serves Mexican dishes such as pork asado and carne guisada.
