Martin Truex Jr. announced some big personal news via Instagram on Friday.
The 42-year-old said on his Instagram story that he and his longtime girlfriend Sherry Polex had broken up.
“To my fans and partners…Sheri and I have made the decision to end our relationship. I would appreciate it,” Truex said in a statement.

Truex and Pollex have been together since 2005. Pollex was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2014. Since then she has been battling cancer.
“I had less than a 30% chance of surviving five years.Eight years into my life, I am still battling my disease, and now I am back on weekly chemo, which motivates me every day.” It is,” Polex told Forbes in November 2022.
Together they raised funds to fight ovarian and childhood cancer.
In a July 2022 article by The Athletic, Pollex said the cancer had spread to his right lung, diaphragm, and parts of his lymph nodes.
Truex is entering its fifth season with Joe Gibbs Racing. He won his 2017 NASCAR Cup Series championship.
