Toronto, November 25, 2022 /CNW/ – After years of dedicated service, Catherine Hoy, RNthe president of the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA), has announced that he is stepping down as president.

In addition, he twice chaired ONA’s Local Hospital Central Negotiation Team, has nine years of experience in grievance negotiations at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre, and has chaired four local hospital negotiations on behalf of Local 99 members. The ONA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Interim State President. Bernadette (Bernie) Robinson, RN. Ms. Robinson is a Registered Nurse and Vice President of Region 2, representing thousands of RNs and health professionals across the East. OntarioShe is serving her third term on the Board of Directors. She has been an active member of ONA since 1987.
The Board will make arrangements to hold state by-elections to replace the state’s president. The Interim President will remain in office until the results of the by-elections to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
