A medical project that fills a gap for nurses in North Texas
Mansfield, Texas, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, and the City of Mansfield were honored by D CEO Magazine for helping build the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing Satellite Campus.
As part of its 2022 Healthcare Excellence Awards, the magazine awarded an outstanding real estate project to a satellite nursing school campus. The award recognizes the partnership’s investment in addressing the nurse shortage in the region.
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing satellite campus opened last August and offers premier nursing education, including one-on-one clinical training and mentorship opportunities. The first class of nursing graduates celebrated BSN with a lamp lighting ceremony on December 3rd in the community of Mansfield, Texas.
Juan Fresquez, Methodist Mansfield President and MBA, said: “This demonstrates the continued commitment of our partners, including the City of Mansfield and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing, to work with us to close the nursing shortage gap at DFW.
“By adding these talented nurses to the DFW community, we will be able to make a positive impact on individual lives and provide a new nurse resource critical to the operation of hospitals and clinics across the country. I can do it.”
The US Department of Health and Human Services reports that Texas will be short of about 16,000 nurses by 2030.
