Midi Health, a virtual care clinic for women going through menopause, has raised $14 million in seed funding and aims to expand its reach nationwide. announced Thursday.
The San Francisco-based company works with employers and the health system to provide insured virtual care for women experiencing hormonal transitions in midlife, helping them with sleep, brain fog, and depression. , anxiety, painful sex, menstrual problems, and more. Its services include hormonal and non-hormonal medications, supplements, lifestyle coaching, and preventative health guidance. Midi Health aims to meet the unmet needs of middle-aged women, her CEO and co-founder Joanna Strober said in an interview.
“What we’ve seen is a really big care gap,” Strover said. “There is a lot of care provided to prenatal women, with a focus on childbirth and fertility treatments. Then there is a very large time domain. [ages] Women aged 40-65 receive less care. ”

Felicis has also invested in Midi Health to help expand midlife care for women, regardless of where they live, according to Felicis general partner Victoria Trager.
“Healthcare for women over 40 is one of the largest healthcare segments not transformed by digital health,” Treyger said in the release. “Midi’s strength in her B2B2C model is that partnering with healthcare systems and employers allows Midi to reach tens of thousands of women at scale in rural and urban areas.”
Midi Health currently only provides care in California, but will use the funds to expand nationwide in January. Her $14 million will also help the startup form more partnerships with employers and healthcare systems. Additionally, Midi is committed to hiring and training more clinical staff through a program called Midi University, Strover said. This includes his 10-hour training with experts on bone health, breast health, sleep, painful sex, and mood health.
“One of the things we discovered is that we don’t have enough trained providers in our category,” says Strober. “You can’t just hire people and put them on our platform. We really need to put them through an extensive training program.”
Other companies offering menopause treatments include Gennev, evernow When alloy, but Strover believes there is a key differentiator. Midi Health is the only company to provide covered care in this space, Strober declared. Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare are the major insurers accepting Midi Health.
