On Wednesday, the Millbrook Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual “Women Who Mean Business Conference and Market” at a church in Brook, Millbrook.
During the conference, attendees gathered in separate rooms to ask questions of the four speakers. Afterwards, they headed to the market to shop the various businesses that had set up booths in the gym area.
This year’s speakers included Annette Funderburk, president of Ingram State Technical College. Desirae Lewis Jackson, Elmore County Commissioner for the 5th District and owner of Lewis Law Office, PC. Connie Bainbridge, Community and Economic Development Manager for Central Alabama Electric Cooperative. Dr. Joyce Lloyd Davis, President of Nurse Practitioners of Alliance, Alabama.
The market shop had 25 vendors who handed out free goodies and prizes while you shopped at the booths.
Lunch was provided by Chance Catering and had a choice of a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant or a wrap. There was also a delicious cake for guests provided by Kingdom Doe.
A headshot was taken by a professional photographer from Pair of Leggs Studio.
The conference keynote speaker was WSFA meteorologist Amanda Curran.

Guests also had the chance to win a grand door prize. Giveaways include gift certificates from Jenilyn’s Creations, a basket of goodies from the Smith-Byrd House Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room, a basket of unique gifts from the Main Street Vintage Market, and a $440 value donated by the River Region. It included Tiffany sunglasses. Her five-night, four-day stay at the New Orleans Marquee donated by Vision Source, and Elmore/Autauga News.
The event dedicated a special dedication to the MACC Businesswoman of the Year Award. Rosalie Martin Wade was selected to receive this prestigious award. This was the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Businesswoman of the Year Award. The Millbrook Women Who Mean Business Conference event was a fun and very inspiring day.
