KUALA LUMPUR (January 30): The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has identified several agencies as prioritizing the creation of the annual Malaysia-Singapore Cyber Security Roundtable to strengthen cyber security.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fazil said it was a positive move and will be launched this year.
“The roundtable has not yet been formed and I will be attending the ASEAN Digital Ministerial Meeting in the Philippines on February 8-9 to meet with ASEAN countries and other telecommunications ministers.

He said some of the enhanced cooperation on cybersecurity will include information exchange on analysis, experience and guidance, which can be termed as the result of cyberattacks and cybersecurity incidents.

On the digital economy, Fahmi said it would involve exchanging information on best practices, policies and regulations, including digitization, interoperable standards and emerging technologies.
“We would also like to know what has been achieved, especially regarding regulation in Singapore, and hope that the relationship between the Republic and Malaysia will be closer,” he said.
