As we head into the holiday season, it’s imperative to think about the spirit of giving, serving your community, and helping those less fortunate than yourself. That’s exactly what students and faculty at Manning Middle School (MJHS) demonstrated last month. The MJHS Cheerleading Squad sponsored a food drive for the local Clarendon County United Ministries. Cheerleaders asked MJHS students and staff, as well as members of the community, to support their efforts. The homeroom classroom competed for the title of most food items donated, knowing the winner would receive a celebratory pizza party.
A big shout out to Martírez’s 7th grade teacher for winning the 7th grade pizza party and Abrajano’s 8th grade pizza party winning teacher. One more he and Terry Rodgers, Manager of Piggly Wiggly Manning, please visit the store on October 22nd, 2022 to provide non-perishable food and monetary donations to support this worthy cause. Many thanks to our many customers.
On Nov. 9, 2022, MJHS “stars” students and staff donated over 5,000 non-perishable foods to joint ministries in Clarendon County. In addition, MJHS made a monetary donation to purchase over £3,000 of food for her from a local food bank. What an “excellent” way to have “excellent” MJHS school families join in and support the community this holiday season.
