Big changes are planned for Mireault’s Home Furnishings in Fosston for 2023, with the biggest changes already underway at the beginning of the year.
The previous owner privately sold the business last December, but under this new owner the store will maintain old traditions while working on new practices.
Founded over 50 years ago, Fosston’s Mireault’s Home Furnishings has become a community staple. The great appeal of being a family run business remains after being recently bought by a local husband and wife.
Mike and Michelle Curfman had been talking to Greg Mireault for over a month until the ownership change was fully processed. But just because the Mirow owners have a new name doesn’t mean face-to-face sales and family-first thinking are gone.
Rather, the Kaufman family plans to keep the spirit of Milo intact, as they are a local family from Foston. While Mike and Michelle learn the layout and planning of a furniture store, Greg Mireault plans to help ensure a seamless transition.
There are plans to keep certain parts of the store the same, such as the name and ambience, but other changes are expected to be implemented further in 2023. Mirow himself said he has been working on his store online for nearly six years. Now the checkout part in particular is all you need to do to ensure a successful launch. The online store, which also allows the store to keep up with the competition, is expected to be fully operational within the next few months.
There are some things that are the same whether you shop in-store or online. It’s a family name.
The transition to new ownership is expected to be officially completed by March.
