New York real estate agent Eric Goldie apparently had enough of a flight passenger to reach out to open the window shades on the plane.
He took matters into his own hands and slapped the mysterious finger – capturing the frosty interaction on camera and defiantly concluding: “My windows, my rules.”
Goldie’s TikTok for the incident, which now has 6 million views, sparked an ongoing online discussion about flight etiquette.
In the video, a blank-faced Goldie, who has more than 150,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram, twice slaps the hand of a second passenger as he tries to open the back shade.
A fellow passenger sitting behind Goldie kept trying to open the window blinds, but he quickly put him in place and slapped their hands.
Goldie posted the video in response to a previous video she posted online detailing the annoying behavior of a passenger on the plane.
Many viewers expressed their support in the comments section, agreeing with Goldie’s act of justice.
Goldie told DailyMail.com, “We’re all back on the road and he[the unruly window puller]forgot the rules about window shades. It must be a lesson learned.’
He added that the whole incident made him question. Pun intended.
“No one has the audacity to try again and again when they say no,” wrote one commenter.
“I think this unleashed a dormant violence inside me. Like a broken finger,” wrote another.
To further justify his vigilantism, Goldie posted a follow-up video explaining the window’s position deserves his reaction.
That is, the windows were firmly within Goldie’s jurisdiction on the plane, rather than shared between seats.
“I can see how confusing this is, but there is no confusion as to whose window this was,” he said in a follow-up.
In an earlier post, Goldie specifically said there would be no problem with passengers wanting to look out the plane’s window during takeoff and landing.
But anyone who wants to shoot blinding lights into the cabin at random intervals during flight will get no sympathy from him.

Online users mostly agree that opening windows to let in bright light on a flight is annoying and unacceptable if the window isn’t even next to the criminal’s seat.

During the flight, the creator said an aisle passenger asked the middle seat occupant, a soft-spoken Japanese woman, to change seats.
