Picocom, a 5G open RAN baseband semiconductor and software specialist, today announced that Antevia Networks has adopted Picocom’s award-winning silicon technology to power its 5G networks.
The partnership will combine Antevia Networks’ technology with Picocom’s latest generation of 5G system-on-a-chip silicon to drive innovations that address many of the challenges associated with deploying indoor 5G private networks.
The all-new Antevia Networks 5G solution offers cost-effective 5G private network deployment. This enables intelligent routing of coverage and capacity within buildings and campuses to meet fluctuating demand or simply provide reliable 5G connectivity.
“Antevia Networks is pioneering a new class of 5G private network coverage for enterprises around the world. By working with Picocom, their leading-edge 5G silicon and collaborative approach will enable us to innovate faster and It will enable us to get to market faster and provide a breakthrough solution for enterprises in need of cost-effective 5G private networks,” said Antevia Networks.
“I am thrilled that Antevia Networks has adopted Picocom’s Open RAN O-DU and O-RU components, building on the standard open interfaces defined by the O-RAN Alliance, a truly innovative solution for indoor coverage. I was very impressed with the way they built the solution,” said Peter Claydon (pictured), president of Picocom.
Antevia Networks’ approach to 5G in-building private networks will revolutionize RAN design, improving coverage, capacity and service robustness while keeping costs low and affordable for enterprises.
PC802 is shipped in volume production with mature software for open RAN distribution unit (O-DU) and radio unit (O-RU) and integrated small cells. Moreover, PC802 supports both 4G LTE and 5G NR.
Picocom and Antevia Networks will be exhibiting at MWC Barcelona 2023 in Hall 5 – Stand 5I32. To arrange a demo meeting with Picocom and/or Antevia Networks at MWC, please email MWC_Barcelona@picocom.com.
