The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangla, has instructed the Finance and National Planning Commission to conduct an expedited review of the seven and submit a report by 6 December.
The CRA Chair and Treasurer are the two remaining Commissioners for a total of nine.
A total of 137 people applied to be nominated by political parties as commissioners of the CRA.
“I have received seven nominations for appointment to the CRA. Seven names have been sent to the Financial Planning Commission for approval hearings,” Wetang’ula said.
The number of candidates assigned to each political party or coalition is based on their power in parliament.
The Senate called for five commissioners, the remaining two were elected by the National Assembly.
The new commissioner takes over as the CRA presses the county to improve its revenue collection system to raise more cash internally and reduce reliance on remittances from the Treasury.
