We were recently invited to visit Royal Caribbean’s headquarters in Port Miami to experience something rarely open to the general public: the Innovation Lab. This expansive space is where the company’s innovators get creative in a collaborative process. The fusion of technology and creativity is protected within these walls. Not everything goes from conceptualization to part of the cruise experience.

During our visit, we witnessed a mobile ice cream machine that looks like a jetpack. But that’s what’s exciting about the Innovation Lab. It’s a no-judgment zone where creative masterminds can easily experiment.

What will bear fruit? All of the visits coincided with the company’s unveiling of its upcoming Icon of the Seas, featuring top-notch features packed with amenities, including the largest water park at sea.

The Category 6 water park has a record-breaking 6 slides.

One of the ship’s new districts, Thrill Island, will have a ‘Category 6’. The water park has his record-breaking six slides. Pressure Drop and its 66-degree incline make it the industry’s first open free-fall slide. A formidable 46-foot tall bolt, the tallest drop slide in the ocean. The Storm Surge and Hurricane Hunter are the first family rafts with 4 riders per raft on the ocean. Storm Chaser is his duo racing his first cruising mat. For the ultimate thrill seeker, Crown’s Edge consists of a skywalk, ropes course and thrill rides that will take you 154 feet above the ocean.

“Thrill Island is a dedicated thrill area with some of the most amazing water slides the world has ever seen,” Jay Schneider, Chief Product Innovation Officer, tells Attraction Magazine. “We say Icon is the best of all vacations. No cutting corners. No compromises on providing the best experience for everyone. Adrenaline-pumping thrills.”

Designed specifically with young families in mind, Surfside is a place where both parents and kids can enjoy a day out.Nearby waterside pool, Splashaway his Bay, bars and eateries .

During my visit to the Innovation Lab, I was able to preview some of Surfside’s features, including an ocean-themed carousel. At this whimsically designed attraction, young guests can ride on the backs of colorful pineapples and whales.

Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, said: “From the moment you step aboard, every experience has been specifically designed to give you the best holiday experience, whether on land or at sea. did.”

Icon of the Seas is poised to be the culmination of 50 years of innovation. It’s a delicate balance between regular cruisers and catering to the crowds unfamiliar with cruising, something the Liberty shared aggressively targeting.
