Seward played his best defense of the season at Greenhouse Wednesday night. Seward held off the visiting cloud his Thunderbirds with his 25% shooting in a 69–60 win. The Saints took his T-Birds he rebounded 66-42 and dominated the grassout.
The Saints jumped out to a 13-10 lead before jumping out to a 23-12 and 25-14 advantage. Seward took halftime and he led 27–20. Seward looked poised to get away with the game before he led 46-28 and the crowd made him a 13-2 run to make him 48-41 SCCC. The Saints returned the lead to his double digits at 55-43 with 7:42 remaining.
The Saints shot 38% from the field, 8-12 from 3 and 66% from the foul line, 19-29. Cloud shot 21% from 3 to 25% and 5-24, and shot 60% from the foul line at 15-25. Seward won despite 23 turnovers.
Wilson Dubinski enjoyed another great shooting night at home. Dubinsky scored his 23 points and went 6-7 in his 3-point range and 6-9 in the field. Mario Whitley has 12 points and 13 rebounds. Blethyn Kimble had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Seward is 12-11 overall and 8-9 in KJCCC. Cloud is 12-10 and 8-8 at the Jayhawk Conference. Seward will host Independence at The Green House on Saturday at 4pm. Liberal Kenworth is the buyout sponsor. The game airs on B107.5.
