Antelope Valley Astronomy Club, Inc. (AVAC) was founded in 1982 and incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 1999, bringing the beauty of the night sky to Antelope Valley families.
AVAC offers programs to schools and other organizations upon request. We do presentations at local schools, state parks, and daytime events wherever the sky is dark.
AVAC is located in the Antelope Valley in northeastern Los Angeles County. Our members hail from Yanaka, all the way from Pasadena, and have a wide range of experience from beginner to advanced.
AVAC provides a friendly learning environment. We are a member of the Astronomical League and offer quarterly newsletters, discounts, and observation programs to our members at no additional cost.
AVAC will hold its monthly meeting on the second Friday of each month (except December) at 7:00 p.m. at the SAGE Planetarium, 38060 20th Street East, Palmdale, California (NE corner of East Avenue R and 20th East). It will be held. Meetings include a monthly program of fascinating night skies, giving members and guests the opportunity to meet and talk about the stars and other topics of interest.
