Farr, TX -37 Far San Juan Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) The high school senior has been accepted into NASA’s Texas High School Aerospace Program (HAS) for the 2022-2023 academic year.
HAS is an authentic STEM learning experience for Texas high school sophomores to take on NASA missions and become the next generation of explorers. HAS is her year-long commitment for high school seniors in Texas, starting in the fall with four-month online learning experiences related to space exploration, earth sciences, technology, and aeronautics.

The following PSJA ISD High School students have been accepted into the one-year competitive program. PSJA Early College High School (11). PSJA North Early College HS (2); PSJA Memorial Early College HS (1); and PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM ECHS (23).
For PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM ECHS Principal Sylvia Lizcano, the acceptance of over 20 students makes her proud.
“I am thrilled with the opportunities presented to PSJA students,” said Principal Lizcano. “Her NASA High School Aerospace Scholar Program, which offers a unique and engaging experience in space exploration, will inspire students to become the next generation of her STEM explorers.”

As part of the program, students will complete an online course that includes four one-month modules, according to the HAS website. This course includes interactive online he lessons and activities related to space exploration, earth sciences, technology, and aeronautics that familiarize scholars with NASA’s six. Themes: Humans in Space, Moon to Mars, Earth, Space Technology, Flight, Solar System and beyond. Students will be able to interact and learn from her NASA engineers throughout the course.
PSJA Superintendent of Education Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our juniors to participate, providing new knowledge, expanding networks and opening many doors for their careers.”
