Man in Tampa lets kids watch new ‘Black Panther’ movie

Tampa, Florida – Through the efforts of local community activists, dozens of children in the Tampa area will be able to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever for free.
Patrick Rose, also known as “Patrick the Giver,” is on a mission to improve communities through acts of kindness.
During the pandemic, he created a campaign to provide lunch to essential workers. He also collected school supplies and books by authors of color to donate to elementary schools in Tampa.
“I have always had a passion for giving back and have shown kindness whenever I can,” Rhodes said.

Now he created the #BlackPantherChallenge to raise money for Tampa kids to attend private screenings of movies and get refreshments.
“I am a huge fan of Marvel and Black Panther, so the release of the second film seemed like the perfect opportunity to raise money to show the expression of our children. And that means a lot to me.
For many children, the movie was the first time they saw someone similar to them in the role.
“It is very important to them that they look at the TV screen, they look at the movie screen, they see people who are like them. Powerful, strong, doing something good and uplifting the community.” ‘, said Jarem Robinson, founder of Brothers United Building Brothers Alliance (BUBBA) Inc.
BUBBA is one of the two groups selected for the preview. Jalem Robinson founded the organization ten years ago. Since then, they have mentored and assisted hundreds of boys and men.
“So he doesn’t even know how big an impact this has had on his family and community. We don’t have the funds to do anything for the group,” Robinson said.
Inspiration Rhodes believes beyond the screen. He booked two private screenings and was able to cover refreshments as well.
“I hope they leave wanting to make a difference,” Rhodes said.
