Terberg Taylor Americas Group has officially broken ground on the site of its new Columbus factory and distribution network.

With a projected $20 million investment, the new facility will bring about 90 jobs to the area.

“Some states have given up on manufacturing, but Mississippi has given up,” Governor Tate Reeves said at the ceremony. “Congratulations to Terberg Taylor Americas Group on this exciting milestone!”

In August, Mississippi-based machine manufacturer Taylor Group announced a strategic merger with Royal Terberg Group to establish a special vehicle manufacturing facility in the Golden Triangle.

“The Taylor team is honored and excited to be part of this incredible partnership with the Tarberg family. It says it will be a world-class company that manufactures world-class products.

The Terberg Group is a 150-year-old Dutch company with operations in 12 countries and a focus on specialized vehicle manufacturing. The company was looking to expand its presence in the US, but didn’t want to do it without a partner.

Once the facility is complete, the two companies will establish a distribution network for the sale, aftersales and rental of Terberg models of terminal tractors.

The factory is built with a scalable design so that it can continuously meet production demands. The first terminal tractors are expected to be manufactured by mid-2024. Over time, a range of Terberg models will be manufactured at our Columbus facility to meet customer specifications.

The Mississippi Development Authority provides assistance with site preparation and infrastructure needs. Lowndes County and the Lowndes County Industrial Development Authority are also supporting the project.
