Not just a classic tuxedo!
Not just a classic tuxedo!
We’re jumping across the pond for this awards ceremony. No, not England. Düsseldorf, Germany to be exact. The MTV European Music Awards saw the stars of film, social media and (yes) music in their best outfits. There have certainly been some hits and some misses as the celebrity walks Red on his carpet, one after another. However, these highs are skyrocketing and should be treated with the utmost caution.
Menswear on the red carpet can be a bit of a thorny issue, if only because the looks are all too stable. Do you really need a different black tuxedo? Classic elegance certainly has something to say, but the best menswear looks push boundaries and experiment with new realms of fashion. There were certainly more than that. There is so much great menswear to see.
Choi Ringo
The British rapper, who recently signed to Idris Elba’s label, was spotted at the VMAs wearing a clean white power suit printed with a multi-patterned oversized star symbol. Skillfully clad in a plethora of rings, Che Lingo seemed to have her finger on the pulse of current trends in menswear.
Luca Vezil
shorts? on the red carpet? You might not have thought it would work, but Luca Vezil seems to pull it off, and the fashion and sports influencer has been inspired by his yellow JORDANLUCA jacket and shorts pairing with Dr. Martens stepped onto his carpet in red with a simple pair.
Armani White
Right before his red carpet performance, rapper Armani White brought his creative spirit to Step and Repeat. Known for his TikTok hit “Billie Eillish,” White turned heads with his matching MCM custom his pants and backpack.
gold band
The fun thing about the EMA’s red carpet is that it’s not just individuals, but bands as well. Dutch electropop hits Goldband appeared together, with all three members sporting unconventional printed menswear looks.
Hugo Gross
Bejeweled Brazilian journalist and presenter Hugo Gloss was his own disco ball for the EMA. The heavily bejeweled suit, made by Michelly X, caught the eye everywhere.
Taika Waititi
I know, I know, a boring old black suit. How ingenious. But there is power in all that elegance, with a sleek, clean design and a high-brow look. And, lucky for us, Waititi changed outfits throughout the night to match his hosting gig. Skip an hour or two and you’ll see Waititi in an extravagant pleated skirt.
Luis Gerardo Mendes
One of the most attractive trends in menswear is the use of new materials in standard suits. These looks don’t change the form, they change the base element. Check out Mexican actor Luis Gerardo Mendes.
muse
Old guard, new fashion. Classic rock band Muse celebrated at her EMA, where each member turned up with their loved ones. Finally, the bandmates got together for photos to showcase some of menswear’s most interesting trends: EMA’s Red Are you new to her carpet?spray paint.
Jack Fowler
Love Island fans rejoice. Your favorite heartthrob attended his MTV EMAs and the results were glorious. After interviewing many stars walking the carpet, Fowler was able to walk the carpet himself.
Nasty C
South African rapper Nasty C brings a subdued cool vibe to EMA in a gradient jacket. His Nasty C, paired with artful jewelry and wide-leg sunglasses, proves he has an eye for fashion.
