1) Christkindlmarket (Chicago, IL)

Christkindlmarket was created by the German-American Chamber of Commerce in the Midwest and was heavily inspired by the original Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany. This free event seamlessly blends old-world European decor with modern, stylish food and gift he vendors. Christkindlmarket aims for an authentic German Christmas he market experience, importing the famous holiday staple Gluwine directly from Germany.

2) Bank of America Winter Village (New York City, NY)

time: Monday-Friday: 11am-8pm, Saturday-Sunday: 10am-8pm

Bryant Park’s Winter Village is the longest-running market on the list, running from late October to early March, and promises festive fun for the whole family. There are hundreds of food and gift stalls festively decorated with garlands, from Christmas ornaments to Asian delicacies. Bryant Park also has a large free ice skating rink (skate rentals start at $18.00). When you’re done skating, check out his multiple pop-up bars in Winter Village, sip mulled wine, and soak up the beautiful New York City vibes. 3) Downtown Holiday Market (Washington DC)
2022 Date: November 18th – December 23rd
position: Love Park and City Hall
time: 12:00pm-8:00pm
Washington DC’s Downtown Christmas Market has it all. A great variety of music lineups, crafts, specialties and even artificial snow falling from above. The event promises Christmas tunes from different artists every night of the festival and will feature over 70 different vendors, including many black businesses and veterans. Four) Christmas Village (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

Philadelphia’s Christmas market, like Chicago’s, is modeled after traditional German markets. Vendors offer artisan goods and specialties such as waffles, bratwurst, mulled wine, and homemade gingerbread. In addition to authentic, high-quality food and drinks, there are plenty of rides that children will love, such as the Ferris wheel and Christmas train.

Last on our list is a newcomer to the US Christmas market scene. Savannah’s Christmas Market has been in Salzburg, Austria since 1974 and has been modeled after his Christkindlmarkt for less than five years. The Savannah Christmas Market boasts river views and parades, with light shows and music by the First Baptist Church Choir. The event is also family-friendly, with lots of activities for kids and photos with Santa.
