Upgrade Cash Rewards Visa®* is combined credit card When personal loanYou can make purchases with the card just like you would with a Visa credit card, but at the end of the month the balance is converted into a set personal loan interest rate and monthly payments. Upgrades typically offer 24-, 36-, or 60-month installment plans. Options may vary depending on credit standing.
For those planning to make large, time-limited purchases (i.e. unable to save money up front), the Upgrade Card offers a structured repayment plan with a set APR. This will help you avoid interest rates rising over time. It also helps reduce discrepancies for people who struggle to stick to monthly payment schedules.
It’s marketed as a rewards credit card that gives you a “1.5% cash back”, but as we’ll see later, it’s almost always not accurate. A more accurate description is a personal loan that works like a credit card.

Usage
The upgrade card works like a regular Visa credit card when making purchases. However, at the end of the month, Upgrade combines all fees into one plan with a fixed monthly payment and a fixed interest rate. This payment plan and credit score will help determine the amount of total interest you will pay.
Every month you make a payment for your upgrade balance, 1.5% of that payment will be applied as a “bonus” to your next month’s balance. So if you pay $100, the $1.50 bonus will be deducted from your principal next month.
This is how we actually call it “point credit card“– In most cases, you’ll only get a small discount on the interest charged by the upgrade. The goal of a typical points credit card is to pay off the balance in full each month. It works. The upgrade card can also be used to pay the balance in full, but it was unclear how the reward would be credited in that case, and the upgrade did not immediately respond to our inquiry.
You can also use your upgrade card for cash advances and transfer funds directly to your bank account of choice. Cash advances follow the same process as purchases, and you don’t have to worry about cash advance fees like you do with credit cards.
Why it’s not a personal loan
The Upgrade Cash Rewards card is similar to a personal loan, but with some key differences.
The first difference is that instead of borrowing a fixed amount, such as $5,000, the loan amount is determined by your credit limit and spending. Credit limits typically range from $500 to $25,000, depending on many financial factors such as income, credit history and score, and existing debt. It can affect your credit score, but you can use your credit limit as much as you want.
The second major difference from traditional personal loans is that the overall process is slightly simplified. It is set up like a line of credit on an asset. Herlock, so that you don’t have to reapply frequently when you need a loan. Nor will you be forced to borrow money that you may not need.
Finally, upgrades don’t charge upfront fees, so you can pay your balance in full whenever you want or can.but most of us Top Picks for Personal Loans We don’t charge any upfront penalties either.
