The car in Washington is one of the most desirable colors in the Skyline GT-R series

To Stephen Rivers
Godzilla tours the auction block. The R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R is his one of the most sacred used sports cars on the market. It’s even more tempting here in the US, where now one of his in Midnight Purple II paint is about to sell for over his $155,000.
That paint color on this car makes it more attractive and it’s easy to see why. Along with Jade, he is one of the most popular colors in GT-R.
Besides the great paint colors, this particular 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec looks to be in amazing condition. The interior is clean, the undercarriage is clean, and the ATTESA all-wheel drive system is intact. All of that becomes even more impressive when you realize that the mileage on the car he has is 95,000 miles (153,000 km).

Before anyone gets too excited, this GT-R won’t win the title like other cars. During the Motorex scandal, he is one of the few models less than 25 years old from manufacture. Only here in the US do we have show and display exemptions. That means the next owner must register with his NHTSA and abide by the rules that require the car to be driven over 2,500 miles each year.
The good news, of course, is that in 2024, it will be as legal as any other car 25 years ago. who knows? At that point, if it’s in good condition, it could go up in value even more. Bids are currently up to $155,000 with approximately 1 day left in the auction.

For that price, new owners get the legendary RB26 inline 6 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, 18-inch wheels and Brembo brakes. A legendary car with legendary performance. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the end.
