Franks wanted the store to represent a “younger, hipper vibe” throughout the village.

“Curating vintage and mixing old and new is something we’re really proud of,” says Franks.
Bourdeau and Franks, who are now raising teenagers and sending their children to college, say they are both ready to pursue their next venture. In January, House15143 closed permanently.

Like Bordeaux, Franks said his favorite thing about owning a store was watching his children grow up between the aisles, and House 15143 was designed solely as a destination for home decor. He added that it was special because it also served as a cozy space for the family.
“It was a great place for them to work here and see their mother doing something in the community,” says Franks. “Having that anchor locally has always been a great experience.”
Packing the last boxes in the store, the women reflected on House15143’s success and how much they appreciate their supporters.
“Whether it’s Christmas time or we’re in town visiting relatives, we really appreciate the people who come to visit us from all over the world,” Franks says. I’ve made family friends and made many great connections through this door.”
“We just want to thank you for shopping at our store,” adds Bordeaux.
